Spring is just around the corner, and we Michiganders are looking forward to the warm weather, birds chirping, and flowers blooming. Luckily this winter has not been that bad!
What does this mean for us?
When we have warm winters, typically, we have early springs. This means Poison Ivy will be showing its ugly face earlier than normal. Typically the first leaves appear in late April to Early May. My best guess for this year, if the temperatures are in the 50s-60s this March, we will be seeing the first Poison Ivy leaves appear in late April. Be careful when doing any yard work this spring!
As for insects and warm winters, Typically warmer winters equates to a higher than normal tick population. Warm winters also mean that mosquitoes will be coming out earlier than normal. I know, I know, NOT what you want to hear, but these are the facts…
Have no fear, Ditch The Itch LLC can help!
We will start booking appointments at the End of April to start the season early to mid May. This is all weather pending. If for some reason Mother Nature decides to hit the button for Winter to return, we will more than likely be starting in Mid May.
If you would like to schedule a Property Inspection/Consultation, or if you would like a free mosquito quote over the phone, please give us a call at 833-3NO-ITCH. We would be happy to help.
